Un giro al cuento de El flautista de Hamelín : un gato algo mafioso, un grupo de ratas instruidas y un joven flautista protagonizan una aventura políticamente incorrecta.
Es el timo perfecto... como no podría ser de otro modo, ya que lo ha ideado el asombroso Mauricio, el gato callejero con más labia y desparpajo de todo el Mundodisco. A ver, ¿sabéis ese cuento que habla de un pueblo, una plaga de ratas y un autista? Pues resulta que Mauricio conoce a un chavalín con cara de tonto que sabe tocar la flauta y a un puñado de ratas un tanto extravagantes pero muy instruidas...
El engaño funciona y la banda liderada por Mauricio ya ha desplumado a varios alcaldes con su pequeña «función». Pero cuando llegan a Mal-Baden, todo se va al garete. Porque en ese pueblo alguien está tocando una melodía distinta, más tenebrosa, y las ratas tendrán que descubrir la verdad.
Ya no es un juego. Allí hay gato encerrado... y algo más.
