Steppenwolf is a man of nearly 50 years old. A few years ago, he rents my aunt's attic and lives here less than a year. He is quiet and unsociable, and indeed, as he claims, he is a wolf, a strange, wild and timid animal from another world. His face is full of wisdom, his expression is gentle, but his inner world is in turmoil. He thinks more than others, and intellectually he has the almost calm objectivity. Such people have not vanity, they never want to be radiant, and they are not stubborn. In a confessional literary form, the individualism shown in this book is self-centered and implies the external reality.
