Working for British Intelligence, Nick Stone discovers the seemingly senseless murders of fellow SAS soldier Kev Brown and his family. Only Kelly, seven years old, has survived, and the two of them are immediately on the run from unidentified pursuers. Stone doesn't even know which of them is the target, as he tries to protect the little girl from a world of violence and corruption in which friend cannot be told from foe.
