L'oins, God takes them'to himfelf in one Vi/ible Body, a Na tional but Congregational Church, to which he forms them Four hundred and thirty Tears after the Promzfe in the Wildernefl and although all Abraham's Natural Poflerity, according to the External part of the Promije made to him, were taken into wzfible church-fellowflsip, [0 that it became a National Church; yet it was fuch a National Church al ways, in the Wildernefs, and in the Holy Land, as was Congregational for it was but onehcongregation.during the Tabernacle, or Temple-flaw, fir/t or fecend; they were al ways bound to afiemble to the Tabernacle, or Temple, thrice at leajl efzzery Tear hence the Tabernacle was flzll called the Tabernacle ofthe Congregation. They were to have but one Altar for burnt-ofirings and Sacrifices; what others were at. Any time elfewhere called high-places, were condemn ed by God as Sin.
Laflly, when Chrift had Divorced this People, Aboli/h ed their Mofaical Conflitution, by breaking their Stapf of Beauty and their Stafl of Bonds, he ereéis his Gojpel Church, calls in sciples by his Mini/try, forms them into a Body, ficrni/heth them with Ofiicers and Ordinances; and after he had fifired, refe again, and continued here Forty days; in which time he frequently appeared to them, and acquaint ed them with his Will, afcends unto his Father, fends his Spirit in a plentiful manner at Pentecofi, whereby mofi of them were furni/hed with all neceflary miraculous Gifts, to the promoting the Glory and Interefl of Chrzfi among Jews and Gentiles.'
